le sigh

The comeback kids just couldn't do it one more time. We missed way too many easy shots--and it wasn't just their defense--and had chances. We brought it back from sixteen down to five with two minutes left, but it just wasn't meant to be.

There were some highlights--Tyshawn finally hitting a three for the first time in the tournie; keeping Davis to no points from the floor until late in the game--if he's named tournie MVP it certainly shouldn't be for this game. The comeback itself was strong. And just the fact that we were there at all. Kentucky was supposed to be there but no one had us there in the final game.

I've been sadder at losses in the final game.

And, hey, at least we won't ever face this Kentucky team again. I despise the one and done crap--our experience certainly showed during our attempted comeback. I don't know if they have a good recruiting class for next year, but well have three starters back and get two players who failed to qualify this year as well as a good recruiting class.

Sadly, we'll lose Danny Manning, off to his first--deservedly--head coaching job at Tulsa.

But, it was a great season. The best game--the comeback against MU. Always a joy to beat them.

So, baseball season starts Friday (weird that opening day isn't tomorrow!) Dunno how well be without our closer, out with Tommy Johns for the year, but I'm looking forward to the Royals this year.

In other news, I started dieting again. I hate it but I have all these cute clothes I can't wear. :( At least WW finally added an Android app.

I've signed up for two big bangs (plus the one due in, oh, two weeks that I haven't started). *sigh* Dean/Cas again, plus a new one for crackships in which I'm going to attempt again Lindsay/Buffy.

Well, the fans are filling up downtown. Let's hope they keep it classy. I'm guessing Lexington will burn... After our win Saturday night the worst that happened was a couple dents in car roofs, thirty odd drunken visits to the ER and a few flowers trampled. On the other hand, Kentucky fans rolled cars, set fires, got way out of control. I loved the guy who said they should set houses on fire. *rolls eyes*

I went to see Hunger Games yesterday. I enjoyed it a lot. I forgot about the bouncing camera that supposedly made people sick until about two-thirds through so it obviously didn't bother me. I hadn't read the book so the casting didn't bother me--certainly the racial idiocy meant nothing to me.

Love the new Avengers trailer. "We have a Hulk"--best line ever. *g*

Service on "unfriending" went well, especially considering that the guy I worked with and I really didn't collaborate at all. I spoke on how it felt to be unfriended; he spoke on reasons to do the unfriending. I think it went over the heads of the older crowd.

Oh, I finally watched all of season two of The Walking Dead and I think the teeny bit of country hick dirt poor farmer blood from my ancestors is the reason I love Darryl so much. I need to get my trade paperbacks from my parents' (lent them to my brother last summer). I've only read the first one. I've also rewatched the first season--legally--I bought it on Amazon streaming.

I've also been watching Season 4 Buffy eps. Forgot maxi skirts were around back then and not just last year...

Well, off to watch the rest of GCB from yesterday and Castle. I really need to commit to watching the last three eps of Game of Thrones from last year so I can watch this year.
