It`s the end of the world as we know it

I don't usually go for boycotts but I'm tempted (though I would think illegally downloading would make the point even more, but, whatever.) It's basketball season then, anyway.

Anyone know when Game of Thrones and Borgias return?

Well, yeah, everyone knows these services have illegal uploading and downloading. It's not going to stop by shutting down one or all of them; there are dozens out there and they'll just keep coming. But people do use these services legitimately, too, like Ellie, for storing and transferring large files that aren't in violation of anything. Those people on MU lost both money and documents etc if they didn't have backups. I always have backups on my harddrive.

There's a lot of shady stuff coming out about the owners of MU. They didn't help their case. I'm annoyed that they were the best site and now they're gone, but I'm more worried about SOPA and PIPA shutting down LJ and Wiki and everything else I use online for very little reason and no due process.

I still believe that the entertainment industry is stuck about 20 years in the past. I'd be willing to watch ads or pay small amounts to get tv online legally within 24 hours of it airing (which is basically how fast you can get it illegally), but there are several shows that never show up on the networks online sites, and I watch a lot of British tv that never comes here. Shows only stay up for a few weeks so if you get behind, tough. All the good shows are on at the same time and I can't afford multiple dvrs. And the networks just don't care to work with their viewers in the modern age.

I do like the idea to shop locally in March and buy independent artists and screw over the big business entertainment industry.
