trying to post more often
Our choir continues to grow! We now have five male voices and if Tim does come back like he said he wanted, we'll have three tenor and three bass. We have three altos, two who can sing either alto or soprano, and four sopranos plus our choir mistress who's a soprano. So, we're getting more balanced. Still need a couple more men.
The songs for Sunday are finally coming together. We have a special practice on Saturday morning as well as wrapping the gifts for our sponsored family. Our tiny choir raised $500! We got the teen an iPod Touch and we'll have enough for about a hundred dollar Walmart card for the mom to buy groceries. The organization we're working with gives the families a box of holiday food as well.
I made Nana's cinnamon sugar pecans last night and was SOOOOO tempted to eat some but nuts still scare me. :( Tonight is sugar cookies that I'll frost tomorrow night. I'll be home Sunday after all--no cooking at mom's--so cleaning and decorating must be done that day or what's the point?
I finally decorated at work. Plugged in my USB LED snowman, set up this adorable cardboard foldable snowglobe, and put out some chocolate kisses in my Santa mug. Go me.
I'm wearing heels I can walk in for dad and I to run to one store which hopefully will have the item I saw for mom (and it's actually what I hope it is--pierced rose gold earrings) and, so, naturally, it's supposed to start snowing late afternoon. KC report said up to two inches in some areas but our local weather channel weather said no accumulation.
I'm making shepherd's pie with lamb (so really shepherd's pie) for dinner. I don't cut corners on cooking often, but I do like the sauce package from England and I have started using the "boil in the microwave" frozen cut potatoes for the mash on top. I don't eat those for regular mashed potatoes but they work fine for this.
I really enjoyed the Scifi (refuse to call it siffy) holiday shows especially Haven. I'm a day behind on tv--haven't watched any of last night's yet--but hope to catch up tonight in between cookie baking.
I need to set aside some time to fic as well.
But, first, Gossip Girl eps and hole punching. Yay.
