Huh...In my quest to do two days of work on one (since tomorrow is a holiday, yay!) I've done everything except file and set a couple hearings, the latter for which I'm waiting until the judge's secretary is back from lunch. When I called the other day at 11:45 a.m., she was already gone and I'm pretty sure it was the judge answering his own phone.

Anyway...

Three day weekend, yay! Mom and I are going to KC tomorrow since we missed the Hallmark open house last weekend when she was out of town and we no longer have a Hallmark store here. We're also going to hunt down a Trader Joe's because the friends they were visiting shop there and apparently the food is wonderful. Also I need bras and sweaters. While the guys' offices are warm due to doors being able to be closed, I'm in this cold open space. If I turn the heat up too high, they swelter. I finally dug out my space heater.

I just like being warm if I'm sitting still which is why I use a heating pad in the winter when I'm home on the couch.

I did drag myself out in the cold last night for choir practice. At least it's not raining anymore. We got over two inches on Tuesday, which we desperately needed, but it was cold!

Better than snow, though. So not ready for that.

The first real KU bball game is tomorrow night. No challenge. On the other hand, we will be losing on Tuesday to Kentucky at Madison Square Garden. Oh well, good to get the first loss out of the way.

KU football isn't even televised this week.

Following with interest (and disgust) the events at Penn State. A couple of years ago our coach was forced out for yelling at and pushing players. I guess we should count ourselves (and our players) lucky.

I had to snort a few times at last night's Criminal Minds. One, there was some comment about how Wichita's ME usually only gets elderly heart attack victims. LOLOL I'm sorry, did you forget that it's the second largest city in the state (outside of the Kansas City metro area) of over 300,000 people with a big gang problem? I'm sure there are plenty of murders there. Also, four tornado touch down storms in like a week that do major damage? Highly unlikely. Maybe in the whole state...maybe. Yes, it's tornado alley, but a lot of tornadoes that do touch down, do so in the vast amount of open space we have here. My town hasn't had a confirmed touch down in a couple of years and we're the fourth largest city. Before that, outside of a couple that hit north of town, it had been since the early 1980s. Tornadoes that do damage and cause death in Kansas just aren't as common as this show wants you to think. I haven't even been to my basement for a tornado in...hm, nine years maybe? And that one never touched down. Yes, there are horrible ones like Joplin, MO and Redding, KS, but after the major tornado damage done in the early part of the season, we had a pretty quiet summer and fall. There's been some weird tornadoes in November in Oklahoma, but then they're having earthquakes, too.

Which I've felt none of, though residents here say their windows are shaking and beds are shaking...Weird. I was sitting on my couch for the last one and felt nothing. Also I don't recall my cats freaking out.

At choir practice last night Lisa and I were gleeking out over Glee. We both love West Side Story and thought Santana was amazing in her role. It was so nice to have an ep without Sue. I didn't even notice she was missing until about 2/3 of the way through. Also still enjoying Ringer and Terra Nova. Haven't seen last night's American Horror Story yet and I fell asleep half way through CSI (after pausing it).

While I'm looking forward to the mid-season finale of Vampire Diaries as an exciting looking episode, so not looking forward to the nearly two month hiatus.

Also, I am so excited about tomorrow night's SPN!

Well, my boss just gave me more work and the mail is here to go through. Yay exciting...

three day weekend for the win, ku football, ku basketball, work, tv blather
