*sigh* At 6500 words (minimum requirement was 3000) fic is still not done. I can send in the rough draft once I have the ending written and paragraphs for fillers of scenes not done, though hopefully I'll have time to write some today as it looks slow. *knock on wood*
The Chiefs continue to look rather anemic on offense--outside of the first quarter and overtime! But, our defense...man!!!
Always good to beat a division foe at home. Best pro football stadium ever! Certainly the loudest! It was an exciting game to watch, considering the Chargers looked aimed to easily score a field goal with like 30 seconds left to win and then Rivers fumbled the snap.
While sitting on my couch watching the Chiefs I heard absolutely nothing from outside. No cars, no children chattering. It's sad. Everyone goes downtown where, apparently, the candy was the cheapest possible. I used to love to decorate the yard for Halloween, carve a pumpkin, play spooky music, but once I was down to about 20 kids, and that on a decent weather night, I just gave up. I'm in a huge neighborhood. I KNOW there are kids here.
Moving on...to moveon.org. They want us to close our bank accounts in the big nationwide banks and move to locally owned ones.
Okay, sure.
*looks at account at locally owned bank that I've had since 1987*
I guess I could suggest to my Republican boss that we move the business accounts, but I'm pretty sure that bank is only in this State. It's headquartered out west about a hundred miles.
People say that if you have a nationwide bank you can get money anywhere. I can get money anywhere. I never have a problem finding an ATM that has one of the several symbols on my bank card. The only time I get charged a fee is when I use it overseas, which I only do to get money and the charge is all of a $1.50. I only got money once in London and used my credit card everywhere else, and, due to some class action suit against Visa, I got 5% back on everything I bought overseas, so if they charged me any fees, it certainly paid for them.
*shrug*
KU basketball starts tonight. We're thin. It's kind of weird. We're always loaded. It doesn't help that two of our players--probable starters--are suspended for these two exhibition games and another starter may not play due to an injury. We may have walk-ons starting!
Back on diet today until I leave for Chicago and Thanksgiving. Three weeks to hopefully lose about ten pounds. I keep losing and gaining those damn ten pounds. Unfortunately I have about eighty more to go after that! The plan for December is to diet on days I don't have parties or anything and eat when I do. And then probably eat real food when I'm on staycation the week between Christmas and New Years and then hit the diet again hard come January 3 when I'm back to work.
I like it when the holidays are on Sundays--three day weekends thanks to the courts closing! :)
I can't believe it's November 1 and it's supposed to be nearly 80 today. Stupid weather. And, naturally, when I'm driving my parents to the airport tomorrow it's supposed to rain all day. I just LOVE driving in the rain. :P
Okay, should got write...
But, first, it's cold in my office. I have the heat on but it's not running at the temp it's set at (70) and my hands are freezing. I need to find my fingerless gloves or the space heater, but since it's going to be 80 outside I'd feel stupid. Well insulated basement, I suppose, though the offices behind me with windows get warm. Tough, I'm running the heat.
