Beautiful, adorable, young yet not your average "WHEE PARTY WHEE I'M A WHORE WHEE MY HEART GETS BROKEN ALL THE TIME" teenager, a clever kid. And just plain awesome, I love her. She's a smart girl, but she's not a nerd. She's adorable but she's not a cutesy ditz. She's gorgeous but not a whore. She's just wonderful, okay?
JENNSEN RAHL from LEGEND OF THE SEEKER

LOOK AT THAT EPIC HAIR, Y'ALL. She's beautiful! She's only in a total of three separate episodes (*cough* so far), and the prime reason is to be captured and used for evil in every single one. She may be a constant damsel in distress, but I think she's got a lot of strength to her that tends to be overlooked. Examples being in the first episode she was in, not only did she defy Denna by tossing away the box, but then defied her all-powerful brother when she pulled the boxes apart to stop him later (and NOT TO MENTION, risking her neck to steal the boxes from Darken Rahl by sneaking into his palace). And in the next episode she was in, she laughed in the face of a guy who had her pinned to the ground. In the third she was in she- okay no, her life pretty much sucked in that one.

KAHLAN AMNELL from LEGEND OF THE SEEKER
Actress; Bridget Regan.
YES, Kahlan's at the bottom of the Top Five pile, I know. Kahlan, the Mother Confessor, is a badass. She can rape your mind and make you her slave with a touch. Her life sucks, too. She can't be with her boyfriend because otherwise he'll be her slave (which is a bad thing). Her entire race of people is dead (... okay. in the show there's like one other or something but IGNORE THAT). Her and her power was abused by her father when she was a child. She's had to suffer through battles and really messed up madness because her boyfriend needs to save the world.
AND YET SHE CONQUERS IT ALL, in stride. All while looking impossibly beautiful.

KATE BECKETT from CASTLE

Kate Beckett is awesome. She's a badass detective and puts up with a childish, egotistical mystery author on a daily basis. Said author is a hottie, however and Beckett is a BAMF for getting him to hang around her. She's his muse, y'all, and it isn't a wonder why. She's absolutely gorgeous and her smile is so amazing LOOK AT THAT SMILE AND TELL ME YOU'RE NOT SMILING AT IT. She may not have the ~epic~ story of the rest of the girls on this list, but she doesn't need one because she's AWESOME.

FIRSTLY THE WOMAN IS RIDIC BEAUTIFUL. GOODNESS GRACIOUS. THE WAY HER DARK HAIR COMPLIMENTS HER SKIN AND THOSE EYES HOMG. Morgana has a fascinating story ahead of her. In legend, she's the (a? the. a. idefk) bad witch. (Of course, basically all women in Arthurian Legend generally have a bad rap, an adulteress, a witch, etc.) In Merlin, Morgana is the ward of the King who has outlawed magic. She grew up with Prince Arthur, and Gwen is her maid. She's only beginning to have her powers. She may be delicate, but she's not much of a real damsel, having her moments where she's just kick-ass. And she's not afraid to stand up to Uther, either, really making her stand out from the group. And more than any character in Merlin, she's dynamically being moved about and her story unfolds. She's the OF INTEREST one, really. And is awesome.
OH AND SHE'S BEAUTIFUL IT MUST BE REPEATED.

AMY POND from DOCTOR WHO
Actress; Karen Gillan.
GUH THE RED HAIR. I've heard complaints that Amy's too sexy, too take-charge, etc, IDEK WHY. Amy is gorgeous, she's feisty, she's not afraid to go against what the Doctor tells her. She's not a complete damsel, she can be the badass too. She's not afraid to go for what she wants. She jumped the Doctor's bones because she's just awesome (and the Doctor is awesome for not going along with it therefore creating the most epic scene ever). Even the Doctor calls her "mad, impossible Amy Pond" and she is mad and I LOVE HER OKAY.

NONE OF YOU ARE SURPRISED, I KNOW. I honestly can't fathom anymore how this show existed without Cara for a whole season, TO BE HONEST. It's like when she joined the cast the show's awesome increased a billion fold. She's the baddest of badasses. She's got not one but two magic pain sticks to kill you with. She gets more tail than anyone else in the show. She makes the best faces in the universe. Her snark and eyerolling are the most amazing thing ever.
AND HER BACKSTORY, Y'ALL. Let me tell you of it. As a child, she was a sweetheart. She was then taken by a cult of leather-clad, hair braided badass women who serve the House of Rahl. She was then tortured, and nibbled on relentlessly by rats. Then she was led to believe that her beloved father had sold her to the Mord'Sith, and killed him. She was raised as a pain-inducing, badass being, feelingless sexy thing of sexiness. Then she was the main cause that got her Lord killed. And THEN she was kicked out of her order, and her only option? Live with the fact that Richard, the ~Seeker~, was the new Lord Rahl, and serve him. In the woods. While the Mother Confessor and First Wizard glared her down. And they all tried to make her have ~feelings~.
THE MADNESS SHE HAS TO DEAL WITH. The character arc she was put through. I CAN'T EVEN REALLY BEGIN TO EXPLAIN WHY CARA IS SO AWESOME. She just is.
