Photos, Part 1
Yay! My brother gave me my photos from the past couple of months so I have stuff to post. ^_^ I’m going to split it up into 2 or 3 posts and start with AnimeNext stuff first since there aren’t many pics of my Tamaki costume yet. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get pics outside with the rain that day so these were taken around 1AM after the hotel cleared out. So, if I look tired, that’s why! ^_^;;;
Tamaki, you idiot! Poofy ballgowns aren’t meant for playing commoners’ games! :-P
Despite all the sparkles on the dress, they actually came out rather subtle on camera. The gold stuff was holographic sequin trim and the pink fabric was similar to this Casa Collection stuff from JoAnn’s: http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat2968&PRODID=xprd285750 I got my version in the fashion district and had assumed it was the same but later found that the JoAnn’s version has scattered beads all over while my version has them concentrated in clusters. It was pretty but annoying to sew since the beads would sometimes get caught on my sewing machine.
One of my feathers liked to turn backwards on its own which is why it’s facing the wrong way in some pics. >_> (I made little pockets in the back of my headdress so I could just slip the ostrich plumes in and disassemble it for packing.) The feathers should really be between the pink and red of the dress but I wasn’t able to match the shade.
My brother thought it was funny how huge this made the dress look. I’m kind of amused I actually look tall enough to be Tamaki from this angle. XD I’m short and part of the reason why I thought I’d be better off doing one of the ballgowns was that I could hide heels underneath. (Didn't think I was cute and petite enough to be a good Honey or Haruhi.)
And I have one of Count D’s peacock dress with the phoenix prop. Old costume but I wanted to take a pic of it with the bird now that I have one. Even if it’s not the right bird to match the artbook picture. ^_^;;
My brother is still working on all his other pics from Sakura Matsuri, Anime Boston, and AnimeNext. I know he has pics of animeangel, neoangelwink ryoko sakuralenayuy usa-ko and yeu. Plus, some group ones from Sakura Matsuri press day that include neo2469. He says he’s planning to finally make a Flickr account and post stuff himself so I’ll put up a link after he’s done.
