A Fearful Page

Today I have taught one of two lessons on the subject of Tarot and Psalms. It was -as always- astonishing how fast people can learn how to read a card, following Mary K.Greers approach. The second card they read as if they had done nothing else in their lives than reading cards. It was a lovely gathering as well.

That second card was a card that ( Read more... )

Yesterday The Jane Austen tarot arrived, after I read your comment about Mary Greer, about how much you appreciate her approach. I saw in your book again that you value her work very much. It was funny that I had read this just that morning in your comment as well! I value it very much as well. It were not the cards but her book (Tarot for Yourself) that brought me at the tarot.

But now your deck. I've not yet opened the box with the cards (that needs to be a special moment). I know I like them, I have seen some of them in your journal. I like the 2 of quils, with the head with veil, so High Priestessy!! And also I like the 7 of teacups with all the teacups.

But, until now I only looked at the book (in one sweep, which does not do it justice of course, but still). It is abundant and logical. Funny as well: What would Jane Austen do? Handy synopses of the books. Good that you wrote down which cards stem from which books. A very nice book. I will meet the book in detail whenever I read the cards.

It must have been a huge project.

And the box is very pretty, funny too, with that baby in a corner. Made me laugh.

It was a huge project. I have been preparing for a one day class I'm teaching on spreads today and I realized as I went to bed last night that, with the material I have, I could teach for a week and never run out of things to do/talk about. I am really obsessive about trying to give people "more bang for their buck." When I woke up, I realized that a dream I had reflected that obsessiveness.

And I think the JA book reflects that mentality.

I truly hope you enjoy your work with the deck and I look forward to reading about it.
