Tuesday after Advent 3, Isaiah 30:18-24
Again a busy day, I still had some Christmas cards to write, I had to prepare for a Christmas workshop tomorrow. I had wanted to work on a lesson about The Magician, but I could not, social obligations prevented me doing that.
The text of the day in the Roman Breviary is a prophecy of a coming time that will be overflowing with riches for the region of Sion. Again it is a prophecy from Isaiah, Isa.30:18-24. One of the things Isaiah tells about that time is that God will let us see our teachers, persons who have the ability to guide. This helps us in times of adversity, chaos and conflicts. In his own words: “Though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet shall not your teachers be hidden anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers.”
The question I have asked myself today is: “Who is this hidden teacher, who I do cannot see right now?”
The card I have pulled from the Tarot of a Moon Garden is King of Swords. The King of Swords is detached, decisive, sharp, quick and ruthless.
Pulling this King means to me that at the moment I am not detached enough in my working with people, not sharp enough. I can be too emphatic, too friendly sometimes. That is because the King of Swords side of me is something that I gladly want to hide. I am afraid that I am not loved if I show that too much, but I have learned that it is in fact a strong aspect in my personality. This card encourages me to show it more. It will give me riches, like Sion will get its riches at the end of times. I think I will not wait as long as that with seeing that teacher, showing that side of me.
