Because some days you just need to capture your life in words.

Casey is in surgery as we speak, Charlize still had a low grade fever overnight, despite it going away in the evenings, it creeps back at 4am. I had to bring Casey in to the vet hospital this morning at 8am after dropping kiddies at daycare (I was sending Charlize to change her mood, at home she was miserable).

Side track to Casey story: This past weekend I noticed blood in her urine (thanks to snow, otherwise I would have missed that). I called the vet yesterday, I wasn't too worried, chalked it up to an infection, but took her anyways, after a consult though I was 'rushed' off to a vet hospital with her for an x-ray. Before I knew it I was standing in a room, holding my dog being told she needed surgery NOW. They were very nice and giving me a huge estimate for surgery, but like I told them, what choice do I have. Mike had a great line "that's why we have visa points!" She'll help contribute to our home renovations! :) So next thing I knew (before anything sunk in) I was booking her surgery for today. I literally had time to give her one last huge supper, (and a bone ofcourse) before she had to not eat the 24hrs prior. I also gave her a nice bath and fluffed her up all pretty before she had to go through surgery. She snuggled with me all evening and I got in plenty of cuddles before this morning.

So up at 5am, had 1 sick whiny baby in my arms, rushing to get ready for work, get Casey ready for surgery, pack up her things, pack up my things, the kids things....and then I realize...Kyle is still in bed. Uh-oh. He usually gets up with me and is off and running, now he only got up at 6:35am. As he climbs down the stairs he tells me to come cuddle with him as he's still tired. Uh-oh #2. He crawls into my spare arm (as charlize is in the other) and it was like wearing an electric blanket, they were radiating so much heat. Kyle's fever was much higher however. So there I was, I had to leave in 30 minutes, no one was dressed, no one was ready, nor did anyone want to get ready (fits to follow) I called my Mom for some relief and she made it over in time to hold a few children while I finished getting everyone ready and out the door. I quickly abandoned the idea of work today, and just tried to make it to all my appointments. Finally out of the house 7:15, drop off at 7:30, picked up another sick child for my daycare woman and drove her as a favour to a clinic seeing it was on my way, took Casey to St-Lazare (20 mins away) dropped her off at 8am, drove my mom to work another 30 mins, then finally back home for 9:15. CRAZY. Kids are still feverish, I have NO clue what it can be, probably just a virus. I am desperately waiting for a phone call from the vet..seriously ANY moment now, to hear how my puppy is doing. She had a bladder stone that took up 80%+ of her bladder. It's a simple surgery but I'm still worried.

Anyways, I think I'll go enjoy some sunshine and wait for some news.

Oh is it friday yet?

Dr. Prevot just called, instead of 1 big stone like they thought it was LOTS of little stones stuck, she had so many though it was even stuck to bladder wall, they were "survites crystals" and the surgeon said they've never seen anything like it before and are excited (what a word eh?) to find out what the lab has to say.

Leave it to my kids to surprise the freaking surgeons.

Anyways, she's doing fine and is awake and her bladder is flushed out nicely. We'll get her tomorrow after work, seeing as it was more complicated than expected they want to keep her a full day to observe and make sure she pees well.

That's it. Off to pick up 2 more sick kids.
