I've heard that if you don't help Anders he just assembles the bomb on his own. Which raises the question of why, exactly, he felt the need to draw Hawke into it in the first place but I've been going back and forth on Anders!opinions since I finished on Friday and it's getting tiring.
BOY JUST BE CRAZY, I GUESS.
It's a real shame about the ending, because ME2's was so satisfying! There came a point for me in this game where I guessed my Hawke had just thrown her hands up in the air and decided that Kirkwall wasn't worth her trouble any more. The only good point was that she was reunited with Bethany.

That was kinda my guess.

Seriously. My Hawke didn't want any of this, she just wanted to sail off into the sunset and get into adventures with Isabela. And suddenly she is surrounded by crazies that she has to deal with.
My Hawke was a mage and Carver died in the deep roads, so she really truly had nothing left to give a fuck about in Kirkwall. Should have run off with Isabela earlier.
Don´t know this game and so I have no idea what you´re writing about,my bro knows it better and so I have to ask what PC you have cause it has to be a pretty good one when you play this game. (He´s a PC junkie ^^).
Y'know, given the warning Varric gives Hawke if s/he's romancing Anders? I am now looking at writing fic where, when they all leave Kirkwall, Varric waits 'til Hawke is asleep and then does to Anders what he does to that pickpocket waaaaay back in the first act - crossbow bolt to the shoulder pinning him to a tree, and then *facepunch* "YOU SELFISH ASSHOLE, WHY DID YOU PULL US - HER INTO THIS SHIT?" (I never wanted to romance Varric; I thought he was the awesome big brother my Hawke never had.)
I actually thought the ending was really satisfying, in a "you ripped my guts out, so why not this too?" kind of way. I was way more disappointed in the ending of Awakening, to be honest. At least this is leaving the (happy?) endings entirely to my imagination instead of just giving me "*facestab* ... *epilogue text slides*".
