I've gone Friends Only...

If you're getting this, and only this, then you've found my journal but aren't on my friends list. Don't you hate that? I know I'm not a fan :( So why am I making my journal friends only?

Simple: I started this journal as a freshman in college, when I was younger and sillier and while part of me is still that same person, most of me has grown and matured into someone vastly different from the person frozen in time in the earlier journal entries. As we grow and become more open and more public, and as we add children into our family who also grow and learn how to read, I feel more comfortable locking down many of those earlier entries, as well as many recent entries from tough-ish times when I needed to rant. I know that the world is full of people like me who'll Google just about anyone and find out whatever they can and while I have no problem being open about who I am, I do feel that keeping a public journal alive for this long invites people to more clearly see who I was rather than who I am right at this moment. Not like I ever did anything interesting. Seriously, I've been drunk like 3 times in my life (all legal), don't smoke, have only dated one guy (and married him), and have spent the majority of my "fun, crazy!" time either sitting at a coffee shop with my best friend or playing bridge with my parents. No, I'm not joking. I love bridge. What of it?

Anywho, to get to an actual point...

If you want to find out about who I actually AM now, feel free to read my "family journal" over at blogspot. It's set up to be family friendly, honest and safe, all about things I didn't think my LJ people would be interested in such as kids, religion, cooking, sewing attempts, house stuff, wifey stuff, adoption stuff, etc.

Likewise, if you just want to friend me on LJ because I'm on a similar community or we have similar interests or we know each other in real life or, well, you feel like it, feel free to send me an email or comment here (I don't know how often I'll check this) and I'll likely add you. I'm going to try to keep my posts on here less family oriented, though, meaning this will probably be more rantish or dealing with any of my fandoms, like video games or movies or graphic novels or something, things I don't get around to as often with a child to care for.

Anywho, thanks for stopping by, and as a warning: If you do want to read any of my blog posts you should have realized by now that I ramble incessantly, add random punctuation, get on tangents and frequently change the subject. Just a warning. Seriously, I'm not even sure I'd want to read this stuff...
