I have to be honest, tonight was kind of ho-hum for me. I know we're at the mid point and we had to get a lot of plot things in today but... yeah, I still can't understand how I love pretty much everything RTD writes for DW and yet that doesn't transfer to TW.
I think Frobischer is doing quite a good job considering he is in a awful, awful position. Either way he's a lamb to the slaughter but I really want him to survive... and I want to see him reunited with his wife and kids. I WANT that moment.
British PM is a TOTAL dick. Arrrggghhhhh!
So Jack's daughter is not from Estelle (::sad face::) but there was an interesting point about if the immortality is passed on... my thinking is that it's not but who knows. I did like her use of the chopping board to knock out the government agent but other than that her evasive maneuvers weren't great. Didn't mum teach her better? (I still may have a crush on her though... ::sigh::)
Clem is still pretty much cool. He plays scared very well and if he had been able to dial down the crazy he might still be on the loose somewhere.
I quite liked the Jack/Ianto talk about how immortal Jack is but when Ianto mentioned himself getting old and dying I thought 'Honey, you work for TW, you ain't going to live to collect your bus pass'. Also Rhys needs to buy a clue about vacating the premises so certain parties can have the Hawt Sex. Oh, oh... LOVED the whole contact lens thing and Rhys and Gwen bringing them home for 'a bit o' fun'. Fucking classic!
Criminal Team!TW FTW. And Ianto going out for supplies and coming back with coffee and toilet roll is just so him.
Lois, I mean I do really like her. I just wish could see where they are going with her. That said I can't argue (and have always appreciated) the dynamic and varied portrayal of women in the show as a whole but especially over the last three nights. From Gwen's more developed (and more likable) personality to Ianto's sister, Agent Johnson, Lois Habiba and Mrs Hastings.
As for the 456. I really don't know what to think about them other than they really have to stop vomiting all over the place. There were actually being quite reasonable until they asked for their gift. Is anyone surprised that they want the children? The request for 10% did remind me of the Master's wish to decimate (in the truest form) the world's population in the DW season 2 finale.
Lastly, Jack being The Man and giving away the kids in the past shouldn't be that big of a surprise. I know we see him as the alien fighter protector dude now but we've also seen some of his past and it is DARK. He's already admitted that TW was bad in the past and he wanted to change it for the better. I think his hands are a LOT dirtier than even this episode suggests. I think in fact that by surrounding himself with his own team, with good people like Gwen and Ianto (and Tosh and Owen ::sniff::) it was his way of creating a positive support group. A link if you will to a more human and compassionate side that had been lost for so long.
