Torchwood 202: "Sleeper"

Just a quickie before I have to go to bed but… Yes, me like very much!

I seriously think this season is going to be all about Ianto for me. Every time he opened his mouth I was smiling, laughing out load or just generally wanting him to keep talking. Nobody knows more then me! LOL. And what was with him and the wheelchair!!! Chair!fic has now officially migrated to Cardiff.

I found Beth bordered on annoying in the beginning but once she became self aware she was a much more interesting character. I was hoping they’d put her in deep freeze and thaw her out for some later storyline (but I suppose that would be a bit too ‘Suzie’). I did like the second scene in the hospital with the husband, okay I know it ended badly for him, but I think there was a real sense of emotion between the two of them.
Briefly on the rest of the team:
Jack worked again for me. I’ve always thought there was two version of Jack. Dr!Jack and TW!Jack and even up to the finale of Doctor Who’s third season it was difficult to understand how the two characters were meant to be the same man. Now, I can really see how much John Barrowman has worked at making this connection. Jack in this episode was easily commanding, threatening, and yet had that side of Jack that makes everyone like him in the first place. Also, what was that look Ianto gave him after Jack came back from being stabbed outside the missile sylo and was putting his shirt on over his white tee? Jack looked so sheepish!
Owen was just Owen this ep. Can’t think of anything major to report but I can’t believe Gwen fell for that whole ‘Jack says you’ve gotta stay here’ line. I mean c’mon girl!
Gwen, I think there’s always been a part of me that never really warmed to Gwen. I do think she’s better this series, as the whole cast are, but maybe its because she’s the ‘bleeding heart’ of the group and I’ve never really fallen for that kind of character. (The exception being Carson Beckett but I think that has more to do with the accent!) I just don’t get the whole infatuation thing she seems to have developed into this season. Okay, maybe I get it because it’s Jack and all but I just find it distracting. She has Rhys! And perhaps she was never really 100% satisfied with their life but Jack/Gwen was always about friendship to me and nothing more. Gwen honey, if you want to dump Rhys, just do it and stop monopolising alone time with Jack or Ianto will give you that smackdown I've been hoping for!
Tosh is getting very comfortable and confident with weapons and it is a joy to see. She's really coming into her own as the tech specialist.

Special effects were a little clunky especially with the arm blade thing, but I did like the mottled skin interface.

Trailer for next week looks good too. There is something about that wartime era that I really like seeing Tosh in. It may be a hangover from last season but I just think it works for her..This turned out much longer than I planned so bed now and hopefully sweet dreams.
