Oh my god! How much did Georgia Moffat pull off playing the doctor's daughter. I was already half in love with her from the trailer and when she walked out and did her stuff I loved it!
Doctor Who, unlike some shows I could mention, gives us strong, independent and spirited women without them being secondary characters or just damsels in distress. She had a perfect combination of enthusiasm and innocent (and those trousers were... guh!)
I was expecting the death when the Doctor invited Jenny along to travel but I was still quite annoyed by it. The ending completely won me over though. I love the idea of Jenny travelling the universe and causing mayhem wherever she goes. (Kinda like Jack actually.)
Other things to like - Donna and the Doctor talking about his fathering past. It was a perfect way to show how these two are really good friends in a way we've never seen before. Also considering I was pretty nasty about Martha in the last ep, I quite liked her in this one. I think what she needs to do is act opposite a non verbal fish alien and all is forgiven.
I have to be honest though if it wasn't for the Jenny factor I don't think this ep would have kept me that interested.
ETA: Edited to remove spoilery ep name from post title.
