Last Day In Orlando Before We Leave...

Jan 12, 2007 22:05

So we're down to out last day here in sunny Florida. The weather has warmed up quite a bit since that cold Tuesday I told you about. After sleeping in till 10 AM, I got dressed and headed out to the computer lab once more, only to discover two people already there. I waited around ten minutes but no one seemed to want to move so I headed back to the room and packed all my things so Mom wouldn't yell and I could return to the computer for however long I needed to be there until it was free. Packing my Nintendo DS, 24 book, and Bible, I headed out again and this time found it empty. Most of the time was spent catching up on posts on Live Journal and the 24 Community but some on making a few posts about last weekend.  Then home for a small break and watching some more of Season Five of 24.

Next up for view were episodes 5.21 & 5.22. More great things to watch. First up was Logan trying to shoot down Jack Bauer's plane. I loved seeing him get hysterical as Mike Novick tries to talk him out of it. The two are a great team...one gets all emotional while the other maintains a steady head. When Mike tells Logan that Jack must have slipped through, it's eerie how silent and calm Charles becomes when he's usually so high strung. That's a sign right there that something is wrong. It was also fun to watch Miles pop a blood vessel as he watches Bill and then Chloe work with Karen behind closed doors. He's out of the loop and Miles has never been out of the loop before. Karen and Bill working together was wonderful...the moment where he touches her arm to ask if what he did was ok was wonderful...everything about them is wonderful :) And now for the triumph of the evening...Logan's death march. I love his scene with Martha when he tries to ask for forgiveness, his long walk back to his office alone, and the way he takes Miles' call from CTU. All play wonderfully into his very complex character :) While watching those two interact, I kept thinking of the Weasel and the Snake hehe.

In the following episode, the interactions between characters just keeps getting better and better. Logan calls Karen after deleting the recording at CTU and says everything is fine and they can let Jack go. It's creepy how he conveys this news. Then Jack chokeholds Miles when they find out what they've done while Karen looks on. One last loose end for Logan to tie up is Pierce and I love their confrontation...two great actors going at it. "Is there anything else, Charles?" Hehe. Bierko escapes...again. They need Henderson's help in finding him but Henderson wants Jack to help in making him disappear. All of Henderson's lines are great. I love him working with Jack, especially when he chides Jack for arriving too early on the scene before the tech guy can empty his hard drive on a disk. The scene shows why Henderson IS so good. Then Pierce is almost killed before Martha steps in and saves the day while Bierko overtakes a submarine with nerve gas. A VERY busy hour for all involved :)

I wanted to go out with Mom later but she never called. Then she rang me about picking up some pizza for dinner so that counted as my one trip off the grounds. It was about 7 PM when she picked me up so I decided to stay in for the rest of the night and watch the last 2 hours of 24 Season Five.

Well, it's down to the season finale of 24 and I still loved it as much as I loved it the first time.  My mother and brother kept making funny comments about Charles and how Itzin is a great actor.  24 is always more fun when you watch it with other people *winks*  So it's down to Episodes 5.23 and 5.24.  Jack and Henderson have to take down the guys on the submarine.  It was still sad to see Jack tell the young Navel officer how to kill Bierko's henchman...the guy looked so innocent.  However, how cool was it to see Henderson and Jack working together.  I was a little unhappy to see Bierko handle his gun in a less than professional manner but that's just nitpicking.  Charles taking credit for the successful operation was once again amusing to watch as his little cheeks puffed up with pride.  And then Chloe called in Morris to help out her with Jack's new operation.  How funny is this guy?  Always a smart remark and delivered with perfect comedic timing!  He'll be great in Season Six.  Meanwhile Martha gets Mike to help her with Aaron.  She says she's more sober than ever before but has only a few hours ago downed a lot of pills with a few glasses of wine.  Right, so that's why she was coming on to Aaron.  She's drunk AND high. *giggles*  At any rate, Mike discovering the body in the back was hilarious as he slams the trunk lid down in surprise and disgust.  And during the touching goodbye scene with Martha, I noticed Aaron has a wedding ring on.  That would explain why he never kissed her...still in another relationship.  Maybe he won't hook up with her come season six!  At any rate, Jack sneaks on to the Presidential Retreat and, with Aaron's help, gets ready to board the President's chopper.  Now for the next to last greatest scene for Jean and Greg...the Seduction!  The heat radiating between them was electric and you can see how Charles doesn't quite believe her but he wants to so he gives in.  If only this passion was not all a lie. Poor Charles!

Now the final hour has arrived and Jack gets on the helicopter.  I love seeing Logan with a paperclip in his mouth and pen in hand as he works on his speech.  Then Jack comes back and tazers the guys next to him.  The way Greg's eyes widen when they recognize Bauer is a great moment.  Also love how he keeps talking and Jack is dead silent.  "Come on, Jack, Say something."  Dead silence.  *giggles*  Perfect contrast of the two men.  Then it's on to the abandoned printing press.  Morris shows up with more tech gear and I love his reaction to seeing the President being held hostage.  The guy is a comic genius!  Anyways, on to the interrogation.  It was great...building up to a crescendo until the moment Charles realizes Jack isn't going to go through with shooting him and his sly weasel look returns as he tells him everything is alright like he's a crisis negotiator.  So funny everytime I see it :)  Then the hanger scene with Martha.  This time I observed that he was almost crying when he started because he was hurt that she would betray him like that.  It's so sad really.  The only thing I wish is that he had been more careful so Jean didn't have bruises afterwards.  A great ending to a great show!
