This last week was the ultimate best!
Monday night, Kelly and I went trick-or-treating in Beverly Hills. It was so much fun getting to hang out with her for a while and meet some of her friends.
Then, I had an excellent meeting on Thursday.
On Saturday, Jimmy, Sean, and I organized a surprise birthday party for Anthony. We bought him a present and baked him a cake that looked like shit but tasted great. Josh joined us and we surprised him outside of the dorms and, after we ate the cake, spontaneously decided to go to the beach. It was dark by the time we got there, but we walked along the beach until we came to Santa Monica pier and then played on a playground near by. Then we took the bus back and ordered out Tai food and watched anime till 11.
On Sunday, I had lunch with my uncle and bought an a skirt that I had been wanting but didn't want to pay full price ($60) for $10! Plus, I found a top that I just love!
That sounds so superficial in a girly girl sort of way. And suddenly I am rather ashamed of my self. But I must say that I was delighted at the time.
Oh well, what is hindsight but a guide for the future? But I must say that it is silly not to take pleasure in special events. If I did not enjoy my clothes then that would take away one potential for satisfaction. The key is to enjoy everything, and if that is engaging in the stereotypical satisfaction of shopping, then it is sensible to do so. If I am shopping I should enjoy it. One simply should not buy for the sake of buying.
The point is, yesterday was a wonderful way to get out of myself for a while so that today, I have been able to focus on my midterm for tomorrow. I can’t wait till that is over.
Then I will be able to do some general house keeping that I just haven’t had time for and catch up on some of my class readings on Wednesday so that I will be ready for my sister's arrival on Thursday. This next weekend will rock too!
