Light at the end of the tunnel

Well,
This certainly needs some updating.
Yesterday afternoon my parents called. They're still in Cozumel but they are safe and the hurricane was over in Florida. The problem: transportation. Cancun and other mainland spots in the Yucatan are already saturated with tourists, about a third of which are Americans, desperate to get back home. So, though they could get off the island, there is little incentive. So they are staying on the island until they can get a flight out with the 1000 tourists isolated on the island. The damage to the airport pushes back any possible departures to Friday and Saturday. In addition, there are a limited number of flights and Continental is not putting much a priority on getting tourists of the island. So it could take an additional week to get off the island.
This is poor business sense. After all, each day that those people are on the island, is a day where they cannot produce. Mom, Dad, Christine, and Kathryn are helping to clean up the island while I am the new administrator for the family business. Lot's of fun. Yesterday, I spent hours on the phone arranging dad's business plans with employees and making sure things are being taken care of at home, not to mention the family network. (Which my grandma certainly finds sub par).
Oh well, the sooner they get back to Nor Cal, the sooner I can get back to a normal life.
But on another note:
The sun is shining, the air is crisp, the sky is blue*, and I just finished my economics midterm.
On the whole, the world is good.

*Since all the rain cleared the pollution out of the air. It's somewhere in the ocean now, making it dangerous to surf.
