MINI MINI MINI!

I should have posted more about this when it happened, but it was right before school started, so busy there, and I just got too busy to post about it. But I'll do it now!

When I was little, I watched a lot of PBS, Mr. Bean in particular. I loved his stupid yellow MINI. XD I used to tell my dad that I'd have one one day.

When I turned 16, MINI wasn't allowed in the US because of the new EPA regulations on car emissions. I got a Mercury Tracer for my birthday that year, and I remember telling my dad, "It's kind of like a MINI." And it was, honestly. It was small, a hatchback, but it was speedy.

Then, I went to Italy with my Latin class senior year... MINIS EVERYWHERE! I took a picture with a hunter green one of the newest design and, once again, declared I would have one.

In 2007, my Tracer died on me... on the highway. A few days later, Dad and I went out looking for cars. MINI was just getting back into the US and we called up the dealership. WAY out of my price range. Like seriously, I could have purchased a small house for what they wanted. So I ended up saying, "One day" and purchasing a Mazda3, which I LOVED, don't get me wrong. I actually still miss it. :(

A few weeks ago, my dad purchased a new vehicle and I went with him. While we were there, they had a MINI Clubman on the used portion of the lot. It was blue, it was a good deal, I wanted it. XD I test drove it a few days later... it was a stick. I now know how to drive a stick in a pinch, but I just couldn't get bring myself to make such a large purchase and then not be able to drive it, so I walked away.

But the bug was there. I started browsing around, looking at used MINIs around town. Then I had the brilliant idea to look at the one dealership in town just to see what a new one would run me. To my COMPLETE surprise, the new MINIs were only a grand more than the five year old one I had driven at the used lot. Not just that, they were FROM THE FUTURE! I was so excited, I sent in a note of inquiry with them on a blue 2013 model. Dude called me not five minutes later to set up an appointment for a test drive and consult. THEN, it turns out I know this dude's wife! We went to middle and high school together. XD

So long story short, I got a MINI and I love it! I'm still not sure if it's "male" or "female" and it totally doesn't have a name. Took me nearly a year to name my last car, so we'll see what happens with this one. I'm rolling around a few names in my head, but none of them are really sticking right now.

TL:DR? MINI! :D
