Well I got my Y membership and promptly headed for the pool. God it feels good to be back in the water again!

Unfortunately, being back means realizing how much ground has been lost. Now I've never been a fast swimmer, but I could do a mile (33 laps) in an hour. Slow but steady, no rests in the middle of it, just continuous swimming back and forth. Today I was able to do 1/3 mile (11 laps) in 45 minutes. OY! I had to take several breaks, and would have given up after a half hour, but took it in my head to do the 1/3 mile, so I kept going those last few laps.

Then I grabbed some foam barbells and did some water aerobics. Then I took them to the kiddie pool (shallower and warmer) and did some more aerobics. Then I hit the hot tub, which is HOT, and very very nice. I sat there for quite some time, came to a gentle boil, then got out.

I got to the dressing room and discovered I couldn't get out of my shirt. The shorts were tricky but not bad, but the shirt probably took 5 minutes to remove. Exercise is fraught with all sorts of tricks and traps for the unwary.
