Yuletide!
Eee! I've never done Yuletide before, so I don't know how it's worked in the past, but I just posted my fic (done early! That never happens) and on AO3 you can see when someone has posted gift-fic for you, which led to much squeeing earlier when I saw my Yuletide gift had already been posted! It's amazing the Christmas-morning glee this induced.
THEN.
I went back to edit two stupid formatting mistakes in my fic, and when I logged back onto AO3, I saw ANOTHER Yuletide fic for me had been posted! I don't even know what to do with the silly, giddy happiness here. WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG TO READ THEM AND LAVISH PRAISE ON THEIR AUTHORS?
Seriously, I feel eight years old again, sitting in my bed waiting for the sun to rise so I can open presents.
This gift-fic exchange thing is awesome. I think it'll catch on.
