It's Official

I have now become my husband's carer. Steve has Cervical Dystonia, it's an ugly neurological disease that is similar to Parkinson's. In the last few months, he has gotten a lot worse and is now on a walking stick. He moves so slowly now and is finding doing ordinary tasks really challenging. I have been granted a carer's allowance and payment so I can take care of him full time. We also have the help of an advocate who is helping us navigate through all of this. Steve can no longer work now but he is volunteering with me for a few hours. The good thing about it is that he can sit and rest when he gets tired and the tasks are very easy. The hardest thing about this is that he is not that old, only in his mid-fifties
