(ooc: I'm sorry! I thought I did reply to your other post, but I didn't check to see that it finished before closing the browser--I was doing it sneakily before my exam on Saturday. :|)
[and sounding wistful again]
I believe you...
And... yes. My son brought them to me. I thank you.
[there's a short note before she continues speaking, almost happily]
If you like, I could assist you. [Jenova wouldn't be the first person she's flown so far, and even the warnings everyone's giving her against being friends with Jenova can't deter this need to be helpful.[
[And a couple of minutes later, in flies Martel, with... a sheet? Wordlessly, she lands and spreads the sheet out. What it looks like is a wide area, the on each side of the wide area it's bound to form almost a rope.]
If you sit in the center there, [she explains,] I can take hold of the two ends and carry you. [Like sitting on a swing, except fifteen or twenty feet in the air.]
[For a moment Jenova hesitates. Needing help, being unable to do a thing... it hurt her dignity to proclaim in such a way. But to admit to such useless vanities... no. So she does as she is directed, a smile passing briefly across her face. To fly again...]
It's no trouble, really. [A smile, and then she steps around behind Jenova, taking hold of both ends of the sheet. Mentally, she quickly counts down. Three. (She bends her knees.) Two. (She braces herself, tightening her grip on the ropes.) One, and she's leaping into the air, flapping her wings as hard as she can. And it's lifting them off the roof, carrying them over the village.]
Don't let go. [Though she offers that warning, it'd be pretty hard to fall out of the seat Jenova's in, so Martel's not too worried.]
[And... the wave of vague embarrassment and discomfort is rapidly replaced by the feel of the wind whipping through her hair, sweeping across her skin. Yes, she had missed this.]
[Such an odd question, but it makes sense. She's... not sure how to answer. It came naturally to her, friendship. So she's pausing a minute.]
A friend... I enjoy your company, and I enjoy doing things to assist you. If you're in trouble or under attack, you're able to count on me to defend you, if you need it. Thus, you're my friend.
[And since she directed an entry toward Jenova but Jenova never answered...]
Did you receive the panpipes? [Yazoo was supposed to give them to her.] I hope you enjoy them. I'm free to teach you to play whenever you please.

[And she didn't miss that wistful voice, so after a moment:]
You wish to fly as well?
