No... I want to be on Netflix really badly, but I usually go to the local Blockbuster because it gets me out of the house and I enjoy the Nazism of it all.
My Dad won't get Netflix, because even though it has infinite more selection and he could find some of the older movies he's looking for, there is no social interaction involved. Total extrovert, he is. I wish I inherited that.
Netflix does have a social aspect to it, though, that I think is quite fun. You can make a friends list just like you can on Livejournal, and you are able to look at what movies are in your friends' queues. You can leave each other notes, reviews, and recommendations, and each time you click on your friends page it gives you a little quiz about the taste of one of your friends. That's probably not social enough for an extrovert, but it works for me.
Yeah... that would be good for me, but not for him. He's not as up-and-up on the internet, and he types one key at a time. He also doesn't trust people on the internet. He hears all those horror stories on the news about how people meet on the internet and they get kidnapped or murdered because they're stupid enough to give out very personal information, or meet a stranger in an isolated area. Whenever I talk to him about Livejournal, he never fails to ask, "Now you don't give out any personal information like you name and address on there, right?" A-Duh.
Another reason why I don't have Netflix is because we have an open mailbox in front of the house, which my newspaper was stolen out of a few times. If I went to get it any time after 9:00 in the morning, it would be gone. I wouldn't be surprised if Netflix got stolen as well.
Did you tell him my Ben Kingsley story?
