I don't really like celebrating death either, but I'd rather think of it as celebrating the lives saved now that he's fallen. Some fucking retarded kid on my facebook went so far as to call anyone celebrating "sadistic" and proceeded to defend that position in the 45 comments it inspired. The sad thing, people were agreeing! That's so backwards and stupid I can't even fathom how you could feel that way. AND you have the people saying it doesn't matter that he's dead, that it means nothing.
In perspective, no this doesn't change much for the everyday citizen of America, your gas prices won't go down, your taxes are going to stay high, but that's not what the object of killing Osama was anyway. It was to avenge those thousands of lives he pre-meditatively took from us, it was to ensure at least a little less terror in our lives, and it was to shake the confidence of his followers. Mission fucking accomplished.
