Season 7 pwns all other seasons in my book - it's where talent-meets-instrument ratio got it right without any major unlikable characters and no major wtfs along the way. No wonder I started watching Idol that season.
I know how hating James Durbin may seem hypocritical but let's be honest - James doesn't have Adam Lambert's finesse and thus when he screams, he screams. It's a wannabe act at best and it's gotten old real fast. Also, I loved the shade Adam's tweet threw. :P
Season Sevennnn <333 There was nobody I hated, well, after the competition was over anyway xD For a while I was pretty bitter about Danny Noriega getting kicked off, but I wouldn't have changed anything about that season. It was perfect. And I made the best friends in the fandom then.
James doesn't have ANYTHING Adam has, except a big range. Finesse, sex appeal, star power... this guy is a goober. I haven't seen anyone yet compare him to Adam except James himself. All the Adam fans are like BITCH PLEASE, SIT DOWN.
Having just watched his performance tonight, he can definitely sing when he's not trying to wail. However, everything about James reeks of "trying too hard" - he has no presence, no command of the stage, no control over his wailing, and is riding on Adam's coattails. It's not cute, we can all see through it, and it's pathetic. Even Michael Slezak's new Idol web series at TV Line constantly is all "James Durbin, STFD & STFU - ADAM DOES IT BETTER", and I love it.
I love it when Adam gets all politically incorrect - it reminds me that he's human and thus makes him more accessible and real (as if he ever really censors himself anyway). It's one of the many things I love most about him - he keeps is real.
