Tomorrow be mother's day so we're going up this lodge on White Pass called Whistlin' Jack's. I think we first went there for Easter before my sister was born. In fact, I'm pretty sure there's a picture of my Dad's entire family around the table with me at the end sticking my head between two people so I can
A)Be seen, and B)Stick my tongue out for maximum effect.

It sits right on the Yakima River and we used to go for a walk after brunch along this little stretch of park the lodge had sort-of groomed. Sort-of applies because every 5 years or so the river floods and any expensive landscaping would just get washed away. They used to have a swing from one of the trees and believe it or not, a series of just-slightly-better-than-yard-decoration statues modeled after snow white and the seven dwarves. I say they were better because they were bigger and sturdier. I know this for a fact because all the little animals that followed Snow White around were included and every year they used to sit me up on the biggest deer and take my picture.

I don't normally miss being a kid, but sometimes...
