I didn't totally hear this song in my head on the way home from work! :P
I also totally said everything I wanted to say about the vid when I recced it: The sweetest journey is the one which brings you back home, in a nutshell. I'm totally biased in that I got to beta it, but I have to say it's one top five favorite vids of all time, and that's saying a lot because I am pretty picky. It actually made me cry and I don't usually cry because of vids. It has absolutely something for EVERYONE, even if you aren't into vids and vidding. Just click on the link and watch the imeem or youtube stream (no downloading required!). I promise it will make you feel like the sun is in your heart.Additionally (and now this requires a side story): Stephen Stills always said that the one song he wished he had written was "Blackbird" by the Beatles
( ... )
but Stephen Stills didn't get to co-write Blackbird - and you had a hand in shaping The Return. Thanks for pushing me to make this vid the best I could make it!
And from now on I'm leaving the marketing to you, because your rec is brilliant and apparently works :)
I feel kinda bad for people who don't watch this vid, really. What, you had to go off and watch "Friends"? Make spaghetti? Have hot sex? What is WRONG with you people? Your lives are empty, hollow things.
PS. I also totally love that the title is Polish, as are the credits.
I don't know why, but it seemed fitting. Because vidding fandom is heavily dominated by people in the US and the UK, which are both countries with majority English speakers. There's that tendency sometimes to forget that not everyone is in the US/UK, that there are probably loads of vidders all over the globe.
It just thought it was cool that you returned home in that way, just by simply having the text be in Polish.
And of course, the music is by a Polish composer. :D
And of course, Joe Campbell squee. He would approve. :D
Considering how universal this vid was meant to be I didn't think the language of credits mattered that much, as long as the audience could discern the main theme. So in a very rare moment of disregarding my audience's demographics I let my Polish patriotism shine through :) And the fact that I could pimp a Polish composer a little was a very nice bonus too ;)
Seriously, I don't vid much in Polish only partly due to the fact that there is much less songs to choose from - it's mostly because the audience would be far smaller. And I'm a total feedback addict, unfortunately.
You really think Campbell would approve? That would be the highest seal of approval I could have dreamed of, methinks... Well, maybe apart from Lucas'. But I bet when Lucas was being patted on the head by Campbell, he was totally full of fanboy squee too :)

I would say something about you returning home, but nah. You already know.
