Uprising!!!!

Had a fabulous time. Got there about 4 p.m. Unloaded cars and it started bloody RAINING. Poor Tisha's tent got all wet on the inside. Rained most of the evening and into the night, but it cleared up around...midnight? Something like that.

I finished the Pelican pouch a couple days before going, here it is....

I got all dressed up for court, as planned, and got several "wow"s from people I had just barely been introduced to. Here's the dress...

And a couple of shots of the new hat.

Court was good, we had LOTS of royalty there. King and Queen of Artemisia (obviously), King of the Outlands, King of An Tir, Crown Prince and Princess of Artemisia, lots of Barons/Baronesses. Very shiny. I do, however, apologize for the cruddy quality of these shots. It was dark and the pavilion was NOT well lit and my camera just isn't that wonderful.
Baron Ulric piping in Their Majesties.

And very interesting are all the orbs in the shot. Most of the pics don't have those. Some do. Weird and very cool. Anyway, that's the King and Queen of Artemisia standing there. Several nice things happened, like Lady Constance de la Rose getting a Laurel....

Then at the end they called in Don Azir de Lucero. lady_flora heralded him in, singing The Ballad of Don Azir. She took the music from "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" and changed the words. The chorus went "Don Azir, Don Azir, for your blade you are known, but it's for your true heart you receive this renown." Beautiful. Anyway, this is her, singing. :-D Told you I was going to post them, Flora!!!

And this is Don Azir and his lady wife, both in black velvet.

Azir taking his oath.

He liked the pouch.

Got some cool henna done while I was there...

Went to a Hafla Friday night, Darbuka was drumming and oh my gods, they are fantastic. There were about 20 or 25 dancers around the fire and it was loads of fun.

Saturday was clear and bright and busy. We made breakfast for the Royal Encampment, about 50 people. Did really well in the shop. Had a nap. Flirted with various gentleman. After dinner Saturday we broke down some of the shop, put the fairies and jewelry and such away so Sunday packing would go faster.

Had a Bardic around the fire pit, there was much singing and storytelling and laughing. Very fun.

Packed up Sunday morning and got on the road. Stopped at Red Rock on the way back, Ehreni wanted to climb up and see the monument. No way in hell was I going to attempt it then, MUCH too tired and stiff, so I let her climb on her own. Check the pics, you'll see wht.

Her at the top.

On the way back down. It was VERY windy!!!

Got home, had a shower and a nap, ended up having an impromptu Bardic on the porch as Tisha had been talking up the SCA while I was sleeping. They all asked me to sing. So I did. Our apt. manager and her fiance are now planning on joining us for Harvest War if possible. It was fun. Going back to real life is hard, all I want to do is go back to sleep for a couple of hours. So I think I will. "Real life" can wait till tomorrow, all the cleaning and the sewing and stuff. Yeah. More nap. Or maybe some food. Whatever.

Yeah, I had a good time.
