Phantom of the Opera
Oh, my, I am still having raptures.
Went last night for dinner at Chili's and then to see Phantom. They set up the story......the first chords of the overture came crashing down.....and I cried. I wasn't sure if my heart could take it, I love the music so much and the whole thing was so beautiful.
Minnie Driver was an absolutely perfect La Carlotta. Emmy Rossum was grand....beautiful voice, still unsure of herself, confused by the situation. Patrick Wilson...also good.
But Gerard Butler. OK, he's not Michael Crawford. But Oh. My. God. OK, so he's a little deformed. Alright, he's completely off his nut. He sings like a fallen angel and I wanted to bring him home and keep him in my closet.
Yes, I loved it. I swear I'm going to see it in the theater again. Taking Ehreni next time. She'll adore it and she'll cry, too. LOL
Nope, this isn't much of a review. Still have to wrap my brain around most of it.
