Bands on the "must see" list for ACL (in no particular order):
Friday: I'm not exactly familiar with very many of the acts on this day, so we plan to catch a few that friends have recommended... Franz Ferdinand, Los Lonely Boys, and Sloan.
Saturday: The Pixies (duh), The Gourds, Modest Mouse (unfortunately G. Love is playing at the same time, but I've done seen them already twice in my life), Trey Anastasio, and does anyone know anything about this Cat Power? Sounds familiar (and I like the name).
Sunday: The Roots, Elvis Costello, Spoon, Ben Harper, and dammitIcan'tdecide between David Garza and Cake. David's playing W&M, where I'm working at anyway. So probably Cake, but Lee and Jaysin say Martin & Wood are good. We'll see....
We're supposed to meet Anne at the Warehouse tonight for pool. She and I have been talking for ages about starting a girly pool league of our very own. I know Laurie would be interested, and Amber and Meredith are willing to try it out. So tonight is the preliminary to see how she and I "do" together. She's good. I guess living with Manny in Comfort with little more than a pool table and books to entertain her trained her well. Or maybe she was good before that. The only other time I've played her was one night at Mugshots when she begged me and my game wasn't on. Tonight, the gloves come off. Or something.
