I was at a party this summer and a mother and son where at the party. The mother (who served in the military) was complaining about the cost of college. How her son wasn't going to get any money because they made to much while at the same time detailing her plans to vaction in her condo in flordia.
Later we got on the subject of military service. She expressed her opinion that everyone should be required to serve in the military. That its character building and such.
I was watching a news segment this morning about recruitment being down. I don't know why I connected the two, but it just made me think of what a hypocrict this mother was being. If she was worried about paying for college and building character for her son, why not have him enlist in the military?
