Ohio travel

I have a friend who used to work as a stewardess for United who nearly fell on the floor laughing when I told her that I was going to Dayton, OH for the weekend. She told me that Dayton had been unofficially voted by a group of her stewardess friends to be the single worst layover in the whole US. This, perhaps, is the truth. But, I had a nice time visiting with seldom-seem relatives anyway, and the trip was educational. These are some things that I learned:
Waffle House does not, in fact, make good waffles. They are like pancakes with fork marks in them. Not only that, but they don't take credit cards for payment.
You cannot purchase organic produce anywhere for either love, nor money...even if you drive 15 minutes away to farm country.
They believe that N' actually replaces the word "and" or the symbol "&" in their business names. There is the Eat N' Park, Park N'Dine, Park N' Go, Clip N' Curl. I was feeling quite superior that there aren't any N' places in NoVa. But then it was pointed out that we had a Linens N' Things (which consequently no longer has my business).
If we ever run out of places to live in DC there is about 8 hours worth of open space along I-70 where just about EVERYONE could fit.
There are 24 hour Starbucks on the PA Turnpike.
Red Bull does, actually, give you wings (or at least makes the last two hours of a long car trip possible at 1 am).
Water skiing is really, REALLY fun, and I need to find a way to do it that doesn't involve driving to my Grandpa's once a month.

So, anyway, grandparent's have been married for 50 years. I was apparently in middle school with a lot of my grandparent's friends grandchildren (whom I do not remember *uncomfortable*). And canned green beans are actually quite tasty if you can get past the texture.
I'm nursing a little sunburn today from yesterday's boating outing, which always makes me a little sleepy. But, we bought a couple hundred dollars worth of fireworks on our way home in Breezewood, PA (at the request of our neighbors) so should nap before this evening, kids willing.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!
