Issa Lyssa! *snugs* You've returned from the land of the dead! Though hopefully not quite as despondent as certain other people who reportedly travelled there...
Poor you. Laptop troubles abound this year. 2008 is not a good year for laptops, obviously.
*glomps a Shanrie* Ooh, eek, I didn't go there. I did go to a shopping centre called Dog Swamp a few times, mind you - woooo ;)
I am not despondent, just odd, which likely astonishes no-one.
Uh-oh, someone else had something electronic fry up on them? :/ I honestly don't know what it is with modern laptops - absolute piles of junk, even with brands that used to be trustworthy. Then again, they all source their bits from the same places these days, so feh ;P
They made it better, but it didn't go away and because I needed it again by that time, I left it. Now it's back to the same old. I need to have dad clean the ventilator, then take it back in so they don't go "Oh, your ventilator was dirty. Problem solved" when it's not. It's just made less.
Also, June is treating me fairly nicely so far, thanks for asking and apologies for not answering when you asked in the first place. ^-^; *hugs*
That's quite all right, poppet, I know how that goes! I'm glad June is behaving itself up your way.
I've always looked upon laptop service shops with a rather jaded eye. A friend of mine used to work for one, and he said all his coworkers tended to do was take it apart, blow dust off the components and put it back together again. Yes, dust is a Bad Thing for laptops, but it's hardly the ONLY thing that goes wrong with them ... :/

*snugs again for good measure*

Probably a shame, not seeing the swamp dog, because I do miss pets. Too many bloody 'no pet' places this close to Perth, and I'm IN one ... :/
Gah, your laptop is -still- on the blink? So taking it to the shop helped a lot, obviously :(

Mmmmm... I should hope they don't here. I sent it all the way back to Acer, but I did get it back very fast.
