Yikes, the weather is so weird in Japan this year ... we're now in August, and we're still getting heavy periods of rainy season weather (which usually finishes in JUNE). And now today it seems there's another typhoon coming, when September's supposed to be typhoon month!
Ah, well, I love the rainy season too (minus unseasonal typhoons) ^o^ And you should hear all the cicadas yelling outside my window - they're awesome, even if they look like mutant aliens. <3
I've been holding grave fears for my laptop lately. It's not even a year old yet, but the screen has started to fail (vertical bands of failed pixels ... up to three rows, now, from only one last week :O) and it overheats like mad if I have it on longer than a couple of hours. I found out recently that HP went into business with Compaq, my most hated computer brand on ye face of ye planet, so that could well be why ... and now, unlike before, the reviewers are all saying that the model rarely lives longer than 16 months at best. (Is this not the sort of thing that would call for a recall in moderately reputable companies?)
Ladies and gentlemen, do not buy HP >.>
I'm going to be cutting my computer time down to one or two hours every one or two days, just so you know, and maybe one longer day on weekends if no more vertical bands appear. Looks like this summer holiday won't mean a miraculous return to proper onlineness just yet. But I am patient like the crayfish! I Shall Return!
In other news, I have English muffins and Milo, and thus all is well with the world. Once I've prowled the flist I may just go and eat/drink them while I watch the lovely downpourings. Ah, this is the life ...
Happy Friday ^_-
