"TOP FAVORITE MOVIES OF SUMMER 2006

Here are my top favorite movies for the summer of 2006:

1) "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" - just as good as the first movie, only darker.

2) "X-Men 3: The Last Stand" - surprisingly, it was almost as good as the second X-Men movie and obviously better than the first. Nor did it suffer from not having Bryan Singer as director.

3) "Miami Vice" - turned out to be a box office bomb, which is a shame because it is an excellent movie. But everyone wanted it to be an EXACT REPLICA of the TV series. Which goes to show how unoriginal people can be.

4) "Mission Impossible 3" - suffered at the box office, because people didn't approve of Tom Cruise's behavior. Silly people. I couldn't care less about Cruise's behavior. But I sure as hell enjoyed this movie, which is just as good as the first in the series.

5) "The DaVinci Code" - Excellent movie, although it was a bit slow-paced in the first half.

6) "Superman Returns" - Basically a pretty good movie, but a little disappointing. I couldn't make up my mind if this was a remake of the 1978 film or a sequel of the 1981 film. I guess that Bryan Singer also couldn't make up his mind.

7) "Poseidon" - another box office bomb that I happen to like. It's not that spectacular (aside from the special effects), but I found it to be rather solid.
