BAFTA Awards and "Casino Royale"

Jan 12, 2007 08:18

History has been made for the James Bond franchise! For the first time, a Bond movie has received major nominations for one of the film industry's top awards.

Eon Production's 21st Bond film, "CASINO ROYALE" has received nine (9) British Academy of Film and Television Award nominations. The nominations include Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay . . . and Best Actor.

This is the first time a Bond movie has received nominations in those catogories for a major film award. And this is the first time that an actor has been nominated for a major award for portraying James Bond. Even if the movie fails to win any of these major awards, Eon Productions and Daniel Craig, especially, have already made film history.
