everyone in the jxn area - give something back this thanksgiving!

hey everyone in the jxn area (or anyone who will be on thanksgiving)!

lisa & i (mostly lisa) are coordinating a thanksgiving lunch. she did this last year with brad, sage, and some other friends and they had a really positive experience.

thanksgiving day (thurs 22nd) 11:30am at smith park in fondren, come have thanksgiving with some friends and the homeless.

basically i'm getting a turkey, she's getting a ham. she's in talks with cups where she works to donate a couple air pots of coffee. we're asking anyone else who would like to come out to bring your favourite thanksgiving side dish, enough to share with everyone. vegetarian and vegan dishes are welcome, even though lisa & i mostly abstain from meat now we wanted to go the traditional route for this.

it's just a way of doing something to help out the homeless people around here in fondren. this is such a great small community, a lot of you probably know and talk to at least one of the homeless people here. (most everyone knows scott the motorcycle artist). it wasn't so long ago that lisa was homeless too. thanksgiving is of course a time to be thankful for what we have.

please come, bring your appetite and a side dish to share (or cups, plates, forks, etc. we need those as well). if you would like to make a dish but can't make it due to family commitments, let me or lisa know and i will be happy to come and get it. as katie can attest, i will give you your dish back clean, though admittedly not in a timely manner.

thanks guys, hope to see you there!

edit: lisa has corrected me that smith park isn't actually in fondren, but it's close enough!
