***SPOILERS for Brisingr!***
So, I just finished Brisingr. Got it on the first day it came out, and read all 750 pages in a day and a half.
Of course, I was right. Oromis is dead. I cried, I am not ashamed to admit it. It was a noble death, he died on Glaedr's back, and it took Galbatorix to kill him. I actually did a death keen, which is insanely lame I know, but I didn't conciously think about it. It was all the more agonizing because it was from Glaedr's point of view. When Oromis says 'do not mourn me' I started crying. I was mostly fine until the, 'and the partner of Glaedr's life passed into the void'. It was incredibly tragic, that he and Glaedr can't be together now because Glaedr is trapped in his heart.
Oromis, you were fucking awesome. Without you, Galbatorix would have gotten a new dragon at the beginning. Without your sacrifices, Eragon wouldn't have been able to learn all the valuable things you taught him. I will continue to write slash about you as if nothing happened.
Do Dragon-Riders salute? If so, I'm totally giving you one right now.
