Yay, Vacation time!
Hi all! Just thought it's about time to update my LJ a bit.
As of March 1st, I am officially on vacation. What's really awesome is that since I work a 7-on, 7-off schedule, I actually get 3 whole weeks of vacation: the week before and after I normally work, which are already weeks off, plus a week of paid vacation in the middle of that. It totally makes the long hours and stress worth it! It also makes longer trips possible, and sometime in the next few years, I definitely plan on heading to Australia and New Zealand for a couple weeks, just as soon as I can find someone to take with me. It'll be no fun ogling the beauty of NZ without someone to make hobbit jokes and Elf refrences with, and no fun touring the Australian wineries without someone to sample the goods with :)
Anyway, I'm at my friend's house in Indianapolis tonight. We have to get up at 6am to catch our flight to Las Vegas. Yes, I'm going to Sin City, where I plan to take in the bright lights and desert air, enjoy some fantastic (and reeaaaaly expensive) cuisine that I'd never get to try otherwise, take in a couple shows (Blue Man Group, and Cirque du Soleil's 'KA', to be exact), and spend lots of time and money at the penny and nickel slots! My partner pharmacist on the night shift even gave me 20 bucks to gamble with, on the condition that I put some of it on red and 21 at the Roulette wheel. *G* I'm also really excited because we're staying at The Venetian, and I've never stayed anywhere that nice before. I hope it lives up to the pictures on their website.
I am taking my laptop with me, but I don't expect to spend all that much time on it, so don't be surprised if I keep an even lower profile than usual for the next few days (if that's even possible!). Wish us luck!
