Kingdom of Heaven opens one week from today. This movie is going to kill me...there's nothing else to it. If my reproductive organs don't explode from the estrogen rush, then I'm going to drown in my own lustful drooling. Today, I got a glimpse of the true magnitude of the sex appeal present when you put Qui-Gon Jinn and Legolas Greenleaf (minus pointy ears, but plus twenty pounds of solid, finely chiseled muscle, and channeling kingly Aragorn) in the same room, then throw in some Remus Lupin to boot, and dress them all in sexy chain mail and period tunics and stuff...*swoon*
What I also found quite interesting is some of the comments made by Liam Neeson and Orlando Bloom, especially considering some of the other movies these guys have worked on. I wasn't too surprise when Liam said that KOH was the biggest project he's ever been involved with, as I imagine it's probably very refreshing to do a huge action movie that doesn't involve 90% blue screen work with imaginary droids and creatures and no real sets. I was a little surprised when Orlando said that KOH had the biggest set he'd ever been on, however. I guess all of KOH is mostly just one giant castle set though, instead of just chunks here and there of Minas Tirith and Helm's Deep, so he may have a point there. What truly made me raise my eyebrows was when he called Kingdom of Heaven 'the most rewarding experience of my life', and his endless gushing about the brilliance of Ridley Scott and his amazing handling of a film of this scale. I can understand this movie being a whole new playing field for him, as his first truly major leading role...I just hope he doesn't forget to whom and what he owes his entire career. The way he talks, you'd think he'd never done an epic before (except for his comment about being very comfortable with shooting while on a horse...I'm guessing no broken ribs this time around *G*).
