Ryoko's Case File and other fairytales

Ryoko's Case File turned to be one of those stories that are really enjoyable to watch, but very difficult to write about. Even though there were some hints in the first two episodes that this series will have a general plotline, up till episode 8 it was just a slice-of-life. Not that I was complaining though. Ryoko herself is love (and I finally realised that she reminds me of Yuuko from XXXHolic). A girly girl in me smiles every time she sees Ryoko's new clothing. It seems Oyuki's wardrobe is more limited, but even she newer appears wearing the same outfit during two episodes in a row. But what amuses me most is the tension between these two. The fact that Oyuki is actually admiring Ryoko slowly comes to a surface, and that's an interesting twist. But what confuses me is why Ryoko jumped from a bridge. It's connected with Izumida somehow, but as it was shown from his point of view, her reasons are unclear.

Also I've just finished watching the second season of XXXHolic. It was much better than the first one, I think. The stories are very well balanced, and even the art doesn't look as weird as it seemed in the first season (however, this may just mean that I got used to it). Now I should finally make myself read recent few volumes of the manga. Along with Tsubasa, it's the series I read in big bunches. And I want another season of the anime. I want too much...

Another supernatural story I'm still watching is Suteki Tantei Labyrinth. Fansubbers translate it too slowly, so I sometimes forget what was shown already. It seems the creators finally decided that the "paranormal detective" part of the story is the most important one, so now we rarely see the kids, but instead there is finally a villain that stated his position. Tripple-Yay!

The most entertaining and light-hearted anime I'm watching now (besides Chi, which is made of kawaiiness) is Koihime Musou. When I started watching it, I didn't expect much. It's based on an ecchi game and so on. But this series turned to be really good. There is a huge number of female characters, most of them are warriors, and no men to spoil the picture. No romance, obviously, just adventures and funny events. There is a fanservice in this series, but it's quite subtle. And it has the one of the cutest ending songs/sequences ever.

Oh, and a random quote: "Cats Rule!" ("Cats & Dogs") It came to my mind after watching another dozen of Chi's Sweet Home episodes.

suteki tantei labyrinth, anime, ryoko's case file, chi's sweet home, koihime musou
