It's been an interesting day. calcasieu1959 December 9 2006, 04:51:19 UTC
Got a call at 9:00 p.m. that an apartment had flooded. Spent the last couple of hours sucking up the water. He was nice and we chatted in between the roaring of the carpet cleaner. It did give me exercise and put me in a better mood. I don't think that I would want to do it on a regular basis though.

Thanks for the ideas. I am copying them down into my journal and will start working on them. Tomorrow, which it will be in about an hour.

I know what part of it is. December 11th Daddy will have been gone three years. Sometimes that just leaves me with an empty feeling inside.

Solstice is December 20th? I had intended to do more. Decorate, celebrate and yet it seems that time and energy have gotten away from me. I know that it doesn't have to be elaborate. I am just at a loss for direction. Perhaps the Great Mother will give me a subtle clue by four as I journal.

I am finally sitting and I don't think that I am going to be getting up anytime soon. Drinking my tea and just relaxing for awhile. The cats have discovered my heating pad. The smallest cat is taking up the entire pad and the largest cat is making do with what is left. They at least are usually good for a laugh.

Take care,
Beverly

Depending on who you talk to the Solstice is the 21/22nd. I am really sorry to hear about the day you had. Wow you might want to incorporate an old tradition and give it a twist. Write notes of love and things you'd like to say to your father on the other side and tie them with a ribbon to the tree. The more the better. This also welcomes the spirits of beloved ancestors to our holiday. On Yule burn it in a Yule Fire (even its in a small cauldron on your altar) and send those messages on their way!

I know what you mean by everything getting away from you. It seems like each year goes faster and faster. I couldn't believe it when Samhain was here and then gone POOF! Maybe this is the over the hill part?
