Hmmm... I probably haven't updated in months, huh. I've been reading my friends list regularly, i just never think to post, that and I have been busy. Last term as school was definitely the worst as far as homework goes. I was pretty much either at school, asleep or doing homework for two months, and although that is an exaggeration, it is rather sad how close it was to reality. But! I managed to pull off a 4.0 for the term.
Now I'm on my externship, in the "real world". I've been at the humane society, which has both the shelter and a clinic. The first two weeks were in the shelter, which is huge! For every dog that's up for adoption there's probably two more that are in the back because they aren't ready to be adopted out for one reason or another. It was crazy busy and run, run, run all the time, but i loved ever minute of it. Now i'm in the clinic. today I was helping with surgery, mostly the recovery. They had three surgeons going at once, with techs prepping the animals that would be next. When one came out of surgery it would come over to where I was where i'd watch over it until it wakes up, then i'd extubate it, take its temp and take it back to its kennel. It was particularly fun pestering the cats that were being slow to wake up, trying to get them to wake up.
