So we took off after I got home from Kennels last night. Unfortunately it was 7 before we got going since kennels took longer last night than the night before. I had been hoping to get going by 6 or a few minutes after word, but i had been pretty sure that was wishful thinking. We made good time tough, only stopping once and that was for gas. And we pulled into our hotel just after midnight. Just waiting for N to wake up so we can get going again. Pooky took the ride about as well as could be expected, there was some complaining at first but then she settled down and just let out a loud plaintive meow any time the headlights behind got too close or we slowed down to suddenly for her liking etc. She was a little uncertain of the room last night, "omg what is wrong with this bed, it's huge." and "Ack! There's a thing... on the wall.... what is it!" (it was a reproduction of some modern art thing) but she seems to be settled this morning. I cracked the curtain a bit when i woke up and now she's sitting on the bed, looking out the window.
I flipped though the tv channles before i resorted to getting out the computer. I had the volume minimized so I wouldn't disturb N for nothing if i couldn't find anything to watch (and I didn't) but I saw some commercial/public service announcement or something, and there was this girl sitting in... well I suppose it was a booster seat, but it wasn't like the booster seats we had when i was a kid, which were basically glorified phone books. It had arms and a back and even a head rest. But the kid that was sitting in it? Her head nearly touched the ceiling of the van! And then there were words on the screen that said, "Remember, children under 4'9" need a booster seat." 4'9"!? There are adults that aren't 4'9"! My poor niece is going to be in a booster seat until she gets her drivers license! Although, I haven't seen her since june
pooky,
