Merry Christmas Everyone (and happy Tuesday to everyone else...)
I'm sort of fighting to stay awake now so lets see how it goes...
Had a wonderful Christmas Eve. Kevin and I played 2500 and i wooped him soundly. We had homemade chicken noodle soup (with homemade noodles!) for lunch. My brothers wife S and my little neice AR came down a little afterwords and then my other sister-in-law, T and the kidlets AM and J came over and we exchanged opened the presents to and from S and AR so that they won't have to stay as late (AR still isn't feeling well...) AR was feeling well enough that she and S came to church with us for the afternoon service and then went home from there. The service was nice, the sermon was wonderful (and slightly profitic? I thought perhaps mom told, but she says she didn't although i'm sure Pastor S was looking right at me when she said it and saw me elbow mom so if she didn't know she knows now...) and we did do the candle lighting thing (used to only do that at the late service) so i don't feel like i missed out on anything by going to the afternoon service. Afterwords we came back to the house and had Oyster Stew (and tomato soup for those of us that are more picky) and afterwords we opened the rest of the presents. I got a rather nice haul :D I got a butterfly necklace (inlayed with that shiny bluey stuff from the inside of an oyster shell) and a scarf from the Turkish scarf project... A card game called Blink from the Out of the Box company (the makers of Apples to Apples) and a gift card from Barns and Nobles from B and S; Nice smelling hand soap (sweat pea), slipper socks and a walmart gift card from M and T and family; and a pretty little glass frog from Kevin. Blink was a ton of fun, taught A how to play and she took to it like nothing i was able to play nearly full speed. Kevin got a game called Qwitch (?) which we didn't quite figure out... I'll have to take a look at it later.
B and S gave mom a bottle of wine from a local vineyard and we opened up that tonight, i liked it a lot i don't remember how the others described it, but i said it tastes like roses smell... I don't know if anyone else "got" that.
What else...
Oh yes, J kept pulling NAH's present out from under the tree after all the presents were open. We explained that he wouldn't get here until next week. At first he seemed insulted that he wasn't there to open his present, he gave me the present and told me I had to take the present to the apartment because aparently "he doesn't like coming here." his mom explained that he had to come on a plane. Then J started talking about how he had a plane and a jet. He has quite an imagination.
Kevin was quite tickled with his cunning hat... he knew he was getting a hat, because i made everyone hats... so when he opened it he says "oh its a hat!" i asked his if he recognized it and when he realized what it was he was all excited... maybe if i wasn't so lazy i'd upload a picture of him wearing it.
tomorrow we're having turkey for supper! Yay! M and T have christmas with T's family tomarrow and B and S have christmas with S's family, so it'll just be mom and dad and kevin and I (and hopefully grandma (she's gotten lately so she doesn't like to go anywhere so odds are dad will get there to pick her up and she won't want to go.))
I'm a little torn about the butterfly necklace though... i really like the one mom gave me but I've worn the butterfly charm that I'm wearing every day for the last... four years and i kind of hate to give it up.
