Lehmann Tradition Apples and Noodles

This was a favorite of my grandmother's. I hadn't had it in years and had infact compleatly forgotten about it until my aunt brought some to potluck dinner today... I know it sounds strange but it's really good.

1lb. egg noodles, cooked in salted water and drained
1 1/2 to 2 cups suger
pie crust(enough for 2 (2 crust) pies)
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3 qt. sliced apples
1/4 c. butter

Line 9x13 inch cake pan with pie crust. Combine suger and spices. spread a layer of noodles on pastry. Add a layer of apples. Spread half of suger mixture over apples. Dot with half of butter. Add another layer of noodles, apples. suger and butter. Add top crust as for pie. Bake in a 425 degree over for 50-60 minutes as for pie.
