(no subject)
So after further investigation, i discovered that the modem that i had bought was indeed a winmodem, and sure enough, even though it connected that first try, it wouldn't connect after that. So i made the trip to bestbuy again and got the one that the tec support guy originaly recomended, but i'm not convinced that its any less of a winmodem, as i can't find any diffrence in the specs on the box. But i have it installed, and its working so far... i guess we'll see. At least this computer is really easy to get into. You just unscrew one screw on the side and then the side panel slides out. it... son of a... the thing disconnected on me. I knew it! I might just have to canablise the modem out of my old computer. I'll give it a bit longer, at least it didn't make a fuss when i reconnected, and our isp isn't known for its dependability.
Edit: Actualy, it seems to be loading pages pretty fast, where the modem that came with my computer, was really slow, even when it was working... once again, i guess we'll see.
