i bet the ickle'uns are really cute! are first-years 11 years old, or 5-6 years old? i'm getting it mixed up with hogwarts, i guess... :) and wow, i thought manga/anime was dying in popular culture, but it appears i was far off the mark. as far as you can tell for now, do you prefer teaching in the classroom, or informally helping students with their speech competition preparation?

haha, the japanese school system is confusing because "first year" could mean first year of elementary, middle or high school. the ones i wrote about in this entry were middle school first years, which is 12-13 years old. japanese elementary school goes up to 6th grade, so middle school is 7th-9th and high school is 10th-12th ( ... )
