WOW!!! Season 4.5 with a bullet!!!

I must admit I haven't really thought to use this journal for discussing the episodes, but having seen last night's episode and taken a few hours to digest it, I had to just say "WOW!!!"

By the end of it, I thought that I'd personally run a marathon as revelation after revelation rolled across the screen with the violence of an inevitable hurricane--literally ... figuratively ... emotionally.

All the actors definitely brought their A-Game, especially Mary McDonnell and Edward James Olmos. Laura's loss of faith, culminating in the scene where Bill finds her burning the scriptures left me speechless and openly crying.  This calibre of acting, from these two performers, is the reason I don't go to many movies anymore, because I'm so often disappointed. BRAVO! to both these wonderful actors!

Dualla's suicide--GAH! I did NOT see that coming ... and Adama's grief was so palpable, as it has been for all his "daughters". And I don't know what to think about his other "dead daughter" Kara, only that she was the final Cylon ... or maybe the "Angel of Death".

As for the revelation of the last Cylon--Ellen Tigh came out of left field, but when I thought about it, I'd considered her a candidate for Cylon-hood in the 1st and 2nd seasons, but not after she died on New Caprica and especially not after Saul was revealed as a Cylon. I'm of two minds about this--one is "okay, I accept this, although it feels like an ass-pull to me", while the second is "okay, this is another red herring" and Saul simply falls for women who remind him of his "Earth-Ellen" like Colonies-Ellen and Caprica-Six and whoever else he's been with over the last two thousand years.

I know it's probably the former and I guess that I'll just have to see where it all leads, but WOW! Great beginning to the Final Ten episodes!
